Kushner Outlined the Conditions Under Which Ukraine Can Succeed After the War
Ukraine has the necessary potential to become a successful and attractive destination for investment once the war with Russia ends. To achieve this, in particular, it is necessary to establish an effective system to combat corruption.
This was stated by U.S. President’s Special Representative Jared Kushner during the annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting, organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
According to him, Ukraine is capable of harnessing the potential and ingenuity currently focused on defending the country against Russian aggression for its future economic development.
Kushner also believes that once the war ends, Ukraine could become much more attractive to international capital. In his view, the key task will be to create conditions that will allow for overcoming corruption and ensuring stable economic growth.
He noted that he is already working with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s team on a plan for Ukraine’s future economic development. Representatives from the World Bank and the investment firm BlackRock are also involved in this effort.
“It was very interesting to work on this—specifically, to understand Ukraine’s full potential. We examined its industrial plans, what worked, and what didn’t,” Kushner said.
He added that Ukraine’s future will largely depend on how its potential is realized once peace is established. At the same time, Kushner emphasized the importance of a solution that is fair and acceptable to the Ukrainian people, regardless of what the country’s borders ultimately look like.
On September 12, U.S. President’s Special Envoy Jared Kushner stated that Ukraine and Russia had reached an agreement on all issues except the territorial one. He made this remark during the annual YES 2026 meeting in Kyiv.
Earlier, Arakhamia had outlined the main goal of the peace talks with Russia.
Earlier, Budanov announced a new round of peace talks in October.
