A resident of Mykolaiv passed on the coordinates of air defense systems and military depots to Russia

A 37-year-old resident of Mykolaiv was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for treason. According to the prosecutor’s office, the man passed information to Russian intelligence about military facilities in the city, including air defense positions and logistics depots of the Defense Forces.

Prosecutors from the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office proved in court that the 37-year-old Mykolaiv resident was guilty of treason committed under martial law. The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. According to the case file, the man gathered information about military infrastructure in the Mykolaiv area. He was particularly interested in the locations of air defense firing positions and logistics depots of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

He transmitted the collected data to a representative of the Russian special services via a messaging app. The information concerned the specific locations of military facilities that could be of interest to the Russian side. Law enforcement officers detained the man in February 2026 in Mykolaiv. His actions were subsequently investigated as part of criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—treason committed under martial law.

The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in prison. In addition, his property will be confiscated. Prosecutors emphasize that passing information about the locations of Ukrainian air defense systems and military logistics to Russian intelligence agencies during a full-scale war could pose a threat to Ukrainian military personnel and the civilian population. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General
