The Ministry of Defense has allocated an additional 15.6 billion hryvnia for the army's immediate needs
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Logistics Forces Command, will free up 15.6 billion hryvnia for the military’s immediate needs by revising existing contracts and planned procurements.
The decision was made in response to rapid changes in technology and the conditions of combat operations on the front lines. Among the main reasons cited for revising the contracts are the unsuitability of certain equipment for combat missions, the lack of standardization, the inability of suppliers to produce the required quantities, and the possibility of replacing some items with cheaper and more readily available alternatives. All changes will be implemented in accordance with the law, and manufacturers have already been informed of the next steps.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense’s press service on its Telegram channel.
Earlier, Koretsky promised that payments to military personnel would be made consistently and in full.
In Ukraine’s draft state budget for 2027, the base pay for military personnel was left at approximately 20,000 hryvnias.
Ukrainian arms manufacturers have supplied military equipment to the armed forces under the eBal system but have been waiting months for payment. The debt owed to individual companies ranges from 24 million to hundreds of millions of hryvnias. This was reported by Ihor Fedirko, executive director of the Ukrainian Council of Arms Manufacturers.
