The organizer of an illegal border-crossing scheme was detained in Uzhhorod

Operatives from the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment, in collaboration with officers from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police, uncovered a network involved in the illegal smuggling of people across the state border in the “Luzhanka” sector. A resident of Zakarpattia was detained in Uzhhorod after promising to arrange an illegal border crossing for a man in exchange for 15,000 U.S. dollars.

The suspect provided instructions regarding the route and next steps and guaranteed an unimpeded crossing. The suspect was notified of charges under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and a preventive measure in the form of pretrial detention with the possibility of bail was imposed. The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Mukachevo District Prosecutor’s Office.

Earlier, a female officer of the General Staff was detained for accepting a bribe of 14,000 dollars.

In the Chernihiv region, a detained deserter attempted to offer a bribe of 40,000 hryvnias.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police uncovered 12 schemes to evade mobilization in eight regions.
