In the Cherkasy region, the Dakhnivske Forest District has been fully restored following a Russian missile attack
On the eve of the professional holiday—Forestry Workers’ Day—the complete restoration of the Dakhniv Forest District in the Cherkasy region was completed. The forest district had been damaged by a missile attack. Restoration work has now been completed.
On July 24, 2025, Russia launched a missile strike on Cherkasy. The blast wave from the attack damaged the office, the forest fire station, garages, service vehicles, and equipment. It completely destroyed the greenhouse. The premises of the Cherkasy Regional Forestry Administration were also damaged.
The restoration took nearly a year. The forest fire station was repaired first to ensure forest protection as quickly as possible, since the Dakhniv Forest District consists of coniferous stands, where the risk of fires is highest. A new greenhouse was also built.
Today, the Dakhnovsk Forest District once again has a fully functional material and technical base, operates steadily, and stands as an example of our country’s ability to withstand enemy attacks and recover.
