Prime Minister Koretsky announced a reduction in the number of government officials in Ukraine
On September 18, Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced plans to overhaul the system of public administration, specifically to reduce the staff of central executive bodies and decrease the number of deputy ministers.
“In wartime, the
government apparatus must work faster and more efficiently. The government has identified specific steps to improve the public administration system,” Koretskyi said.
According to the prime minister, a comprehensive analysis of the public administration system will be conducted to identify areas of overlapping functions, redundant processes, and opportunities for optimization. Digital transformation is a separate focus area.
“We will analyze digital governance and the automation of internal processes within central executive bodies. The state should not waste time and resources on processes that can be made faster and simpler using digital tools,” Koretskyy stated on Telegram.
As a reminder, due to problems with the receipt of international funding, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has postponed to December a portion of the capital expenditures originally planned for September–November.
The Autostrada Group of Companies announced the suspension of work at all its sites in Ukraine. The company’s founder, Maksym Shkil, attributed this decision to the government’s suspension of funding for capital expenditures. According to him, the company was presented with a fait accompli without prior discussion.
