In the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone carrying a combat mine crashed onto the roof of a residential building but did not explode; State Emergency Service bomb disposal experts were able to defuse it and evacuate the residents. The incident occurred during an attack on the Bohodukhiv community when the drone lost control, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

During another Russian attack on the Bohodukhiv territorial community in the Kharkiv region, one of the “Molniya”-type drones lost control and crashed directly onto the roof of a two-story residential building, where people were present at the time; they immediately called for help.

State Emergency Service units and bomb disposal experts quickly arrived at the scene and determined during their inspection that the drone was not empty but was carrying a TM-62 anti-vehicle mine, which, fortunately for the residents, did not detonate upon impact and remained extremely dangerous. “Residents immediately called ‘101,’” the statement noted, emphasizing that it was the people’s quick reaction that prevented a tragedy.

Rescue workers evacuated the building’s residents to a safe location to conduct the demining operation without risk to civilians, after which bomb disposal experts carefully removed the explosive device and the remains of the drone from the building’s roof.

Experts emphasize that such incidents remain particularly dangerous, as even damaged or stationary drones may contain an explosive component that can detonate at the slightest careless contact or change in position.

Rescue workers are once again urging residents of the region to be as vigilant as possible and not to approach suspicious objects or debris that may remain after attacks. “If you spot a suspicious object or unknown debris—do not approach it, do not touch it, call 101 or 112,” the service reminded, emphasizing that taking the right actions in the first few minutes can save lives.

Russia attackedUkraine with 209 drones overnight; air defense forces destroyed 180 targets.

On the night of May 19, Russian troops once again attacked the Izmail district of the Odesa region. Port infrastructure facilities in Izmail came under fire.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region on May 19, more than 20 attacks involving artillery and drones were recorded, resulting in two people being wounded. The shelling damaged infrastructure facilities, administrative buildings, and private homes in several districts of the region.
