A veteran was abducted in the Kyiv region, and $75,000 was stolen from his apartment
A 53-year-old Kyiv resident, who is a veteran, was forcibly taken to a so-called rehabilitation center in the Kyiv region, where he was held for over a week. According to the investigation, the perpetrators were attempting to gain access to his property.
In early September, near the man’s home, three men and a woman injected him with an unknown substance, after which they put him in a car and took him to the center.
The police believe the mastermind behind the crime is a 52-year-old acquaintance of the victim who had previously been convicted of fraud. He was aware of the veteran’s wealth and had obtained his apartment keys.
Afterward, the man, along with his 19-year-old daughter, broke into the apartment and stole $75,000 and documents.

During searches of the “rehabilitation center,” law enforcement officers discovered more than 40 people. Some of them claimed that they, too, were being held against their will. This information is currently being verified.
The organizer and his daughter were detained and charged. Two other alleged accomplices, aged 22 and 33, were also charged. The court ordered the organizer to be held in custody.
The suspects face up to 12 years in prison. The police are continuing to identify others involved in the crime.

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine thwarted a terrorist attack in the center of Rivne. According to the investigation, a Russian agent planted a homemade explosive device in a trash can near one of the government buildings. He then used a messaging app to inform his Russian handler that the mission had been completed.
Earlier, the SBU’s counterintelligence unit detained a Russian military intelligence agent in the Donetsk region who was guiding guided bombs and strike drones toward the Sloviansk area.
The Russian intelligence agent changed jobs at various companies in Dnipro to gather information for adjusting Russian strikes. Eventually, the man secured a position at a defense sector company, where he drew up detailed diagrams of workshops and warehouses.
