In the Lviv region, a mother was punished because her underage daughter was pregnant
The Zhovkivsky District Court of Lviv Oblast held a woman administratively liable for failing to properly fulfill her parental duties. The basis for the decision was that her 16-year-old daughter became pregnant after having a relationship with a minor boy.
During the hearing, the mother admitted her guilt and expressed remorse. The court, taking into account that the woman had no prior criminal record, fined her 850 hryvnias. In addition, she must pay 665 hryvnias in court fees.
The ruling states that the girl had sexual relations with an underage boy, after which she became pregnant. Law enforcement officials filed a report against her mother for failing to properly fulfill her parental duties regarding the child’s upbringing, education, and provision of adequate living conditions.
The court took into account that this was the woman’s first administrative offense, that she admitted her guilt, and that she expressed remorse. At the same time, no circumstances were found that would aggravate her liability.
The court fined the mother 850 hryvnias and ordered her to pay 665 hryvnias in court fees. The ruling may be appealed to the appellate court within 10 days.
However, the Unified State Register of Court Decisions does not contain any specific information regarding the court decision concerning the minor boy who impregnated the 16-year-old girl.
