More than 400,000 Ukrainians live in northern Poland — Consul General
About 420,000 Ukrainian citizens currently reside in four provinces in northern Poland.
This was reported by Ukrinform.
According to Svitlana Krysa, Ukraine’s Consul General in Gdańsk, this figure is nearly equal to the population of the city itself, which is home to about 480,000 people.
About 40% of Ukrainians arrived in this region after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022.
The consular district includes the West Pomeranian, Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, and Warmian-Masurian provinces.
The Consul General also noted that upgrading the status of the office in Gdańsk to a Consulate General will allow for expanded support for Ukrainians and strengthen cultural and economic ties.
The city plans to find new premises for the Consulate General that will meet modern requirements and be convenient for visitors.
