In the Ternopil region, parents of teenagers will be fined for dancing to Russian music on Heroes' Alley

The police have identified three underage girls who were dancing to Russian-language music on Heroes' Alley in Monastyryska.

A video of the girls was posted on social media on August 12. In the footage, they were dancing and performing acrobatic stunts against a backdrop of portraits of fallen Ukrainian soldiers.

After the incident gained widespread attention, relatives of the fallen defenders, as well as families of soldiers currently serving on the front lines, contacted the police.

Law enforcement officials determined that the participants in the video were students in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. The two younger girls are residents of Monastyrysk, while the oldest—an 11th-grader from Ternopil—had come to visit her grandmother for the holidays.

As for the parents of the two younger girls, the police filed administrative charges under Part 1 of Article 184 of the Code of Administrative Offenses—failure to properly fulfill parental responsibilities. They face a fine of up to 1,700 hryvnias.

The 16-year-old girl will be held solely responsible. A report was filed against her under Article 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses—petty hooliganism. The penalty provides for a fine of up to 119 hryvnias or community service.

According to police, relatives of the deceased soldiers also asked the girls to publicly apologize for their actions.
