In the Ternopil region, all members of a medical commission have been placed under investigation for issuing 1,000 fake deferrals

In the Ternopil region, law enforcement officials exposed the chair and three members of the medical advisory board at a district hospital, as well as two intermediaries who organized a large-scale scheme to evade mobilization. Pretrial measures have already been imposed on the four medical professionals and one of the intermediaries.

According to the investigation, between 2024 and 2026, the doctors submitted false information regarding the health status of relatives of those subject to military service and their need for constant outside care. The cost of preparing the set of documents ranged from $6,000 to $12,000, and a total of about 1,000 such medical certificates were issued over the three-year period.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized medical records and cell phones. Four medical professionals have been notified that they are suspected of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and of official forgery, while the head of the Medical Examination Commission faces an additional charge of aiding the illegal transportation of persons across the state border. Two intermediaries have also been charged, one of whom—in absentia—is accused of abuse of influence. The investigation is currently examining the involvement of other officials.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Earlier in Kyiv, a 24-year-old law student was detained for offering men the opportunity to fictitiously “become students” at a Polish university in exchange for $10,000, with the aim of traveling abroad.

In Poland, female professors from Odesa were detained who had attempted to purchase a batch of diplomas from a Warsaw university.
