A warm weekend is just around the corner—here's the weather forecast for September 19 and 20

A mostly warm weekend is expected in Ukraine on September 19 and 20. On Saturday, some regions will see brief showers, but by Sunday, there will be almost no precipitation across the country. During the day, temperatures will mostly rise to 21–26°C.

The weekend of September 19 and 20 will be quite warm in Ukraine, although Saturday will not be entirely rain-free everywhere. According to the forecast by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, brief showers are possible on September 19 in the northern regions, at night, and in most western regions, while rain will fall in some places in the central part of the country during the day. The rest of the country will remain dry on Saturday. In the western regions, fog is expected in some areas at night and in the morning, so drivers should be careful on the roads.

The wind will be from the west and southwest, with speeds of 5–10 m/s. Nighttime temperatures across Ukraine will range from 10 to 15°C. It will be cooler in the far west and east—around 6–11°. During the day, temperatures will rise to 21–26°, while in the west and north, temperatures will be slightly lower—18–23°.

What will the weather be like in Kyiv?

In the capital, Saturday night will be dry. During the day, brief showers are possible in some areas. The wind will be from the west at 5–10 m/s. Overnight temperatures will range from 13–15°C, and during the day, temperatures will rise to 21–23°C.

That said, Kyiv has experienced significantly hotter weather on September 19 in the past. According to data from the Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, the highest temperature on this day was recorded in 2015—when thermometers rose to 31.8° above zero. The coolest night on September 19 was in 1894, when the temperature in Kyiv dropped to 0.4°C.

Sunday will be drier

On Sunday, September 20, the weather in Ukraine will become more stable. According to forecasters, no precipitation is expected across the country. However, fog may develop in some areas of the northeast at night and in the morning. The wind will remain westerly and southwesterly, at 5–10 m/s.

Overnight temperatures will range from 10–15° above zero. It will be warmer in the southern and eastern regions—up to 19° in some areas. Daytime temperatures across Ukraine are expected to reach 21–26° above zero. Sunday in Kyiv will also be dry. The wind will be southwesterly, at 5–10 m/s. Overnight temperatures will range from 13–15°, and daytime highs will reach 23–25°.

So the second half of September is in no hurry to bring a sharp drop in temperature. Saturday will be somewhat changeable due to localized showers, while Sunday promises to be dry and warm across most of Ukraine.
