Severe weather left part of the Kyiv region without power
Due to severe weather in the Kyiv region, more than 80,000 customers are without power. The cause is strong winds that have knocked down trees and damaged power lines. Utility crews are already on site and working to restore power as quickly as possible, according to DTEK.
The storm hit the Kyiv region and caused serious disruptions to the power supply. According to DTEK, over 80,000 customers were left without power due to downed power lines. The main cause was strong gusts of wind. They uprooted trees, which fell directly onto power lines. As a result, wires were damaged and emergency power outages occurred in several districts at once.
The company reported that crews have already been dispatched to the sites. Power workers are working around the clock to restore electricity. “Power lines were damaged due to strong winds and falling trees. Our specialists are already working on-site,” DTEK noted.
Work is continuing under difficult conditions, as the bad weather has not yet fully subsided. This may complicate access to the damaged areas and slightly delay repairs. The company adds that they are trying to restore power as quickly as possible but ask people to be understanding of the situation.
Tomorrow, April 24, there are no plans for rolling blackouts or power restrictions in Ukraine. The power grid is operating stably, despite systematic attempts by Russia to destabilize critical infrastructure.
