The government has extended the compensation period for internally displaced persons
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has extended the deadline for providing compensation to facilities for housing internally displaced persons who have lost their documents due to the war from 60 to 90 days.
According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, the decision is intended to expand state housing programs and simplify procedures for assisting citizens during martial law. Details of the changes are available on the official website of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, which will now display all information regarding payments in users’ online accounts.
According to the head of government, the new rules also expand the options for confirming the destruction or damage of housing through the implementation of remote inspection reports, which will significantly speed up the documentation of losses from Russian attacks. The calculation system itself will become more transparent, as citizens will be able to track in detail the status of their compensation claims, the exact calculation of the amount, the amounts accrued, or the official reasons for denial in their personal accounts on the Pension Fund’s platform.
In a separate decision, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure and conditions for providing state subsidies to ensure housing for family-type children’s homes. When allocating funding, special priority will be given to families evacuated due to hostilities, families who have completely lost their homes, or those citizens who are currently returning to Ukraine from abroad.
