On July 26, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy announced the start of an audit within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, the audit will assess the condition of military units, their combat readiness, logistics, staffing, personnel training, and the effectiveness of command and control.
The purpose of the audit, as Drapatiy noted, is not to find those at fault, but to objectively assess the actual state of affairs in the army.
“We need to know the truth about the level of combat readiness, logistics, manning, personnel training, and the effectiveness of command and control,” Drapatiy said.
He emphasized that no one will be “above scrutiny” during the audit, and that if violations, official negligence, or abuses are discovered, those responsible will be held accountable.
“My goal is not to find someone to blame, but to honestly assess the actual state of affairs in every military unit. We need to know the truth about the level of combat readiness, logistics, manning, personnel training, and the effectiveness of command and control. There will be no ‘untouchables.’ If violations, official negligence, or abuse are detected, everyone will be held accountable,” said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatiy, and Acting Minister of Defense Yevhen Khmara must carry out two key tasks: strengthen the defense of Ukrainian airspace and reform the system of territorial recruitment centers.
