On July 27, the heat will continue across Ukraine, and thunderstorms with hail will hit the western regions
On Sunday, July 27, most of Ukraine will see warm and mostly dry weather with temperatures reaching up to +30°C. At the same time, forecasters predict thunderstorms in the western regions, with heavy rain, hail, and gusts of up to 20 m/s in some areas, prompting a yellow danger alert.
According to the forecast, no precipitation is expected in most regions. However, moderate rain is expected in the western part of the country during the day, and in some places it may be heavy. During thunderstorms, hail and strong wind gusts of up to 15–20 m/s are possible in some areas.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warns that such weather conditions may disrupt the operations of energy, construction, and utility companies, as well as affect traffic safety.
Nighttime temperatures will range from +13 to +18 degrees, while daytime temperatures will reach +27 to +32 degrees. It will be hottest in the central, southern, and eastern regions. Meanwhile, in the far west, temperatures will be lower—+21…+26 degrees—due to rain and thunderstorms.
Forecasters also reported that as early as July 28, unstable weather will spread across most of Ukraine. Short-lived rains and thunderstorms are forecast in nearly all regions. In the central regions, and during the day also in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, significant precipitation is expected in some areas.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center recommends that residents of western regions monitor the latest weather updates and, during thunderstorms, avoid staying near trees, advertising structures, and power lines.
Earlier, experts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center analyzed the climatic characteristics of July in Ukraine and outlined preliminary weather trends for the second month of summer. According to their estimates, July may continue to see above-average temperatures compared to normal levels.
