German businesses should remain in Ukraine after the war — Zelenskyy

Ukraine expects that once the war ends, German businesses will be actively operating in the country and launching joint projects with Ukrainian companies. Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during the Ukrainian-German Business Forum. According to him, such cooperation is already developing, particularly in the energy sector.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is interested in the presence of German businesses after the war ends. This refers not only to German companies operating in Ukraine but also to joint projects with Ukrainian businesses. “Once this war is over, we very much look forward to the presence of German businesses. We very much hope that this will involve cooperation with Ukrainian businesses,” the president said.

According to him, cooperation between Ukrainian and German companies is already underway. One of the key areas is the energy sector, which remains critically important for Ukraine due to Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure. Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian and German entrepreneurs are exchanging expertise, technologies, and production capabilities. This enables companies to work together right now and lays the groundwork for future joint projects.

The president also thanked German businesses for continuing to operate in Ukraine despite the war. According to Zelenskyy, such cooperation is important for both countries. Ukraine gains access to the technologies, expertise, and opportunities of international business, while German companies can develop joint production facilities and projects alongside their Ukrainian partners.

The President specifically emphasized that once the war ends, Ukraine wants to see German businesses among the active participants in the country’s reconstruction. This refers to long-term cooperation that will continue the projects already launched during the war. Thus, Kyiv is counting not only on Germany’s assistance but also on extensive economic ties between the two countries. The Ukrainian side is interested in having German companies work alongside Ukrainian businesses and participate in the post-war development and reconstruction of the economy. Zelenskyy made these remarks during the Ukrainian-German Business Forum.

According to Ukraine, Russia has up to 700 ballistic missiles in its arsenal. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stated that Russian industry produces an additional 130–140 such missiles every month. He called on partners to increase pressure on Russia and impose sanctions on companies involved in weapons production.
