The OGP responded to the NABU’s overnight raids in the Carthage case
The Office of the Prosecutor General stated that it is prepared to assist the NABU in its investigation of the “Carthage” case and, at the same time, to verify the legality of the searches that were conducted.
The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that the issue of dismissing an employee of the agency who is implicated in the investigation is currently being considered. An internal investigation has also been launched.
At the same time, the prosecutor’s office stated that during nighttime searches of the offices of the Prosecutor General, his first deputy, and other NABU employees, NABU gained access to materials from other criminal cases.
Specifically, this concerns documents regarding possible unlawful actions by individuals associated with the leadership of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), as well as materials from the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) regarding the possible activities of NABU and SAPO employees. The Prosecutor General’s Office wants to determine whether such access was authorized by court orders.
The Prosecutor General’s Office also stated that the materials cited by the investigation contain no direct evidence that the Prosecutor General facilitated the operations of fraudulent call centers, warned them about investigative actions, or received funds or unlawful benefits from them.
The Office of the Prosecutor General emphasized that any potential crimes committed by prosecution officials must be investigated; however, all investigative actions must be conducted strictly within the bounds of the law and the powers granted by the court.

Earlier, prosecutors from the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor’s Office completed a pretrial investigation and filed an indictment with the court against the organizer and seven members of a transnational criminal organization.
Thanks to international cooperation, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, together with colleagues from Europol, Eurojust, and law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, dismantled a fraudulent call center whose members were swindling money from citizens.
NABU and the SAP exposed a criminal organization that systematically received bribes from fraudulent call centers and laundered millions in illicit proceeds.
