The patrol police have not yet deployed the Phantoms on the roads
"Phantom" patrol cars have not yet hit the roads in Ukraine, despite earlier reports circulating online that they had begun operations.
This was announced by Oleksiy Biloshitsky, head of the Patrol Police Department.
The Patrol Police Department has refuted reports circulating in the media and on news websites claiming that “Phantom” patrol cars are already on the roads of Ukraine.
“The ‘Phantoms’ will indeed appear on the roads in the near future, but we will make an official announcement regarding their launch,” Biloshitsky noted.
“Phantom” patrol cars look no different from ordinary vehicles, but they record speeding violations on the roads. Before the full-scale invasion, they had only been in operation for about a month—yet during that short period, police officers brought more than 26,000 offending drivers to justice.
As a reminder, in 2022, “Phantom” patrols recorded nearly 1,000 violations during their first 24 hours of operation.
On August 22, in northeastern England, seven people—including two law enforcement officers—were killed in a head-on collision with a police car. The accident occurred on the A66 near Middlesbrough following a chase.
The accident involving Olya Polyakova and her eldest daughter Masha on the evening of August 19 most likely occurred abroad. This is suggested by details from a video the singer posted on Instagram after the crash.
