On August 19, a rally in support of Mykhailo Fedorov is taking place in Kyiv near the Verkhovna Rada, next to Mariinsky Park. Rally participants are calling for his reinstatement as defense minister as parliament prepares to make personnel decisions regarding the ministry’s leadership.

More than 100 people are taking part in the rally.

Among those present are both young people and the elderly. Protesters are holding signs reading “Fedorov—Minister of Defense,” “Corruption Kills,” “Vote Against Khmara,” “Bring Fedorov Back,” “I Want Fedorov and Crimea Back,” and others. Participants are also holding Ukrainian and EU flags.

When cars drive past the parliament building, activists chant “Vote against Khmara,” “We demand to be heard,” “Fedorov—to the Ministry of Defense, Khmara to the Security Service of Ukraine,” “Don’t hide behind Khmara,” and other slogans.

Protesters are also calling on Khmara himself to “make the right decision.”

Police officers, including “dialogue police,” are stationed near the protest site, according to Ukrinform.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) announced a special operation to expose a criminal organization which, according to preliminary data, operated under the leadership of current and former members of the Ukrainian Parliament and with the participation of high-ranking officials from the Office of the President and other individuals.

As a reminder, the High Anti-Corruption Court recently convicted a relative of MP Goncharenko.

The actions and financial status of former Deputy Prosecutor General Dmytro Verbytskyi warrant a thorough investigation by anti-corruption agencies. This opinion was expressed by Oleksiy Goncharenko, a member of parliament and chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission, in an interview with UA.News.
