The Hungarian Embassy remains in Kyiv despite threats from Russia
The Hungarian Embassy in Ukraine reported that staff members of the diplomatic mission are continuing their work in Kyiv, despite threats from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed at foreign diplomats and citizens. The diplomatic mission made this statement, joining similar appeals from the heads of other foreign diplomatic missions in the Ukrainian capital.
The embassy emphasized that it views the Russian ministry’s statements with concern and reminded that Russia is obligated to comply with the Vienna Convention and the norms of international humanitarian law. Hungarian diplomats emphasized: “We are staying in Kyiv.”
The diplomatic mission made this statement on Facebook.
As a reminder, Poland is not changing the operations of its embassy in Kyiv despite threats from Russia.
Diplomatic missions from European countries have stated that they do not plan to leave Kyiv, despite Russia’s warnings about the alleged danger of staying in the Ukrainian capital and threats to continue massive strikes.
