The Rada prematurely terminated the mandates of two deputies from the Servant of the People party
On September 3, the Verkhovna Rada approved the requests by Andriy Zhupanin and Ostap Shypailo to terminate their terms as deputies early. Both members of parliament represented the “Servant of the People” parliamentary faction.
Zhupanin’s resignation was supported by 234 deputies.
In 2019, he was elected to the 9th convocation of the Verkhovna Rada as a member of the “Servant of the People” party (No. 110 on the list). He chaired the Subcommittee on Gas Policy of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services, and from 2024 served as deputy chairman of the Committee.
The lawmaker explained his decision to resign from his seat by citing better career opportunities.
At the same time, 235 of his colleagues supported the motion to terminate Shipailo’s parliamentary powers.
Ostap Shipailo was elected as a People’s Deputy of the 9th convocation from the “Servant of the People” party, ranked 120th on the party list. He was a member of the Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services.
