The Rada ratified the convention establishing a compensation commission for Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a law ratifying the Convention on the Establishment of an International Compensation Commission for Ukraine.

283 members of parliament voted in favor of the corresponding legislative initiative No. 0371.

The Convention provides for the establishment of an International Compensation Commission as the second component of the mechanism for compensating for damages caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The first component of this mechanism is the Register of Damages, which records evidence and information regarding losses caused after February 24, 2022.

The new commission will act as an independent administrative body within the Council of Europe. It will review claims for compensation for damages caused by the Russian Federation’s internationally unlawful actions in Ukraine or against Ukraine.

It is expected that ratification will allow for the completion of the internal procedures necessary for the Convention to enter into force.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported in the first reading draft law No. 14271, which provides for the implementation of European Union standards in the field of renewable energy sources.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 14166, which allows for the resumption of the design and construction of the Museum of the Heavenly Hundred and the Revolution of Dignity in Kyiv.
