Young people sometimes view working for Russian intelligence agencies as a game, according to a study
Ukrainian youth aged 18 to 28 sometimes agree to collaborate with the Russian army not for financial gain or ideological reasons, but out of a desire to experience the adrenaline rush and become part of a dangerous “game.”
This was discussed during the presentation of the study “Criminological Profile of a Convicted Collaborator,” reports hromadske. Researchers noted that although the new generation is the most resistant to Russian propaganda, exceptions to the rule are largely driven by the psychological factor of seeking thrills.
Oleksandr Tkachenko, a senior researcher at the Research Center of the Public Administration of Ukraine, explained that the desire to engage in actual espionage activities without fully understanding the consequences often leads to tragic outcomes. As an example, the researcher cited the case of a 19-year-old girl from the Zaporizhzhia region who, under the guise of maintaining a personal blog, visited the front lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and then transmitted the collected data to her handler in Russia.
Earlier in Kyiv, a man was detained following a report of explosives at a shopping mall.
Recall that the Security Service of Ukraine detained another agent in Mykolaiv who was working for Russia. This individual is a repeat offender who passed information about the location of the Defense Forces to the enemy.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine issued an in absentia notice of suspicion against Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, who is believed to be involved in supporting the war against Ukraine.
