Shufrich Jr. was granted leave and did not return to his reserve company
The son of People’s Deputy Nestor Shufrich was mobilized into a reserve company of the 241st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. He was later granted leave for family reasons, after which, according to the publication, he did not return to his unit. Journalists also described the conditions of his service, which, they say, differed from those of other mobilized soldiers.
After being mobilized, Nestor Shufrich Jr. was assigned to a reserve company of the 241st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. The journalist claims that he was not housed in the general barracks with the other conscripts, but in a separate room used by the administration. As noted in the article, the room had a separate bed and more comfortable living conditions.
Journalists also noted that the cell phones of other conscripts were confiscated immediately upon arrival, while Shufrich Jr., according to their information, continued to use his own phone. “The phones of all those forcibly mobilized were confiscated immediately upon arrival, but for some reason, Shufrich still had his phone with him,” the article states.
According to the author of the article, all those mobilized were later issued military uniforms. At the same time, it is claimed that Shufrich was given a body armor plate and helmet separately—both made of ceramic. The column also notes that Shufrich Jr. himself openly spoke to other servicemen about himself, his family, and the circumstances of his mobilization.
According to him, he had a valid military registration, which he planned to renew in the near future. However, as he claimed, he was stopped by employees of the Pechersk District Military Registration and Enlistment Office and the Special Purpose Unit, after which he underwent a military medical examination and was assigned to a reserve company. “I was on my way to see my girlfriend, and while I was in my dress uniform, I was stopped by staff at the Military Registration and Enlistment Office,” the journalist quotes Shufrich Jr. as saying.
Also, according to “Ukrainska Pravda,” he said that one of his acquaintances allegedly paid “twenty” to avoid mobilization, but he himself, in his own words, did not do so. Separately, Shufrich Jr. mentioned that his brother serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and works with drones.
According to the columnist, Shufrich Jr. was subsequently granted leave “for family reasons.” After that, according to the journalist, he had not returned to his reserve company as of the time of publication.
As of the time of publication, there were no official comments from Nestor Shufrich Jr., representatives of the 241st Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces, the Territorial Defense Command, or other government agencies regarding the information published by “Ukrainska Pravda.” The journalistic piece contains the author’s assertions, which have not yet been officially confirmed or refuted.
