Sibiga condemned the shooting that occurred during a White House dinner for correspondents
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga condemned the shooting incident that occurred during a dinner hosted by the White House Correspondents' Association in Washington.
The minister announced this on social media platform X.
“We condemn the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner,” Sibiga stated.
According to him, the Ukrainian side was relieved to learn that none of the event’s participants were injured as a result of the incident.
“We are relieved to note that U.S. President Donald Trump, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, and other attendees were unharmed,” the minister noted.

Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Olha Stefanishyna reported that she was at the scene during the event. According to her, the shooter was neutralized while attempting to enter the building.
“The President and First Lady of the United States are fine. Those who were with the Ukrainians were lucky. The shooter was neutralized as he tried to break into the room,” she said.

Stefanishyna also released photos taken before and after the incident, which captured the sequence of events.
In the U.S., authorities have identified the suspect in the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump. He is 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen of Torrance, California.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that law enforcement had detained the shooter following the shooting incident during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, which he was attending.
The day before, U.S. President Donald Trump canceled the American delegation’s visit to Pakistan, where talks with Iran were to take place.
