Employees of the TCC in the Kyiv region have been charged with organizing a scheme for draft dodgers
In Bila Tserkva, law enforcement officials uncovered an illegal operation in which participants, in exchange for money, canceled summonses, removed individuals from wanted lists, and created fake reservations. The organizers of the scheme turned out to be two military personnel from territorial recruitment centers and the deputy director of a company that manufactures military uniforms.
This was reported by the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, noting that the perpetrators demanded between $1,500 and $10,000 depending on the complexity of the service.
The most expensive service was the issuance of reservation documents through a company designated as critical to the economy—ranging from $7,000 to $10,000. The plant director fictitiously employed men who did not actually perform any work but received official protection from conscription. The suspects demanded $5,000 to remove a conscript from the wanted list and up to $2,000 to cancel a summons that had already been issued.
Three members of the group were detained while receiving another installment of funds. During searches, investigators seized cash, mobile devices, and documentation confirming the criminal activity. The suspects are charged with receiving an unlawful benefit by a public official through extortion, which carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The prosecutor’s office has already filed a motion to impose pretrial detention on the detainees.
In Ukraine, 13 new schemes for evading mobilization have been dismantled.
