Ukrenergo has announced whether there will be power outages on May 1
For tomorrow, May 1, NPC “Ukrenergo” does not anticipate any electricity consumption restrictions for residential and industrial customers. The company has officially announced that the power grid currently has sufficient capacity to meet consumer demand without resorting to forced power outages.
Ukrenergo reported this, while urging citizens to use electricity sparingly during peak hours.
Energy experts advise shifting the use of high-power appliances, such as washing machines, water heaters, or electric stoves, to daytime hours. It is especially important to limit the load on the grid during the evening—from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This will help balance the power grid and prevent emergencies in the event of a sudden surge in consumption.
The situation in the power grid remains stable, despite ongoing challenges and the need for repair work at generation facilities. Specialists continue to restore infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling and prepare the grids for further operation. Consumers can find up-to-date information on the condition of the grids and possible local repairs on the official websites of their regional distribution operators (oblenergos).
In the Kyiv region, 81 gas-fired power generation units with a total capacity of 103 MW are already in operation. Another 150 MW are currently being installed.
Russian troops attacked Mykolaiv with strike drones. The strike damaged energy infrastructure, leaving one of the city’s districts without power.
