In Boryspil, dogs mauled a woman to death

A tragic incident occurred in Boryspil, Kyiv Oblast—a 79-year-old local woman died after being attacked by two Cane Corso dogs. Law enforcement officials are currently investigating and determining all the circumstances of the incident.

According to preliminary reports, on June 19 at approximately 3:40 p.m. in the city of Boryspil, two Cane Corso dogs ran out of a private residence through a gate that had not been closed properly and entered a neighboring yard, where they attacked a person.

As a result of the attack, a 79-year-old woman sustained severe injuries. The victim was hospitalized, where she later died.

Under the procedural guidance of the Boryspil District Prosecutor’s Office, a pretrial investigation has been launched into the cause of death due to negligence (Part 1 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The dog owner was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the dogs were taken to a canine center. Initial investigative actions are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

As a reminder, in France, a Papillon-breed toy spaniel named Lazar, who was considered the oldest dog in the world, died at the age of 31.

In March, Member of Parliament Heorhiy Mazurashu reported that during a routine training session in a Kyiv park, he was attacked by domestic animals.
