There isn't a single student enrolled in the chemistry teacher training program in Kyiv
There are currently no admitted students in Kyiv for the program to train future chemistry teachers. However, the admissions process is still ongoing, so the number of admitted students may change
At the Mykhailo Dragomanov National University—the only university in the capital where it was possible to pursue a degree in the chemistry teacher training program in 2026—15 applications were submitted.
However, as of now, not a single applicant has been admitted. Thus, there are currently no new students in Kyiv who will begin studying in the chemistry teacher training program.
By comparison, in 2025, 16 applications were submitted for this program, and six applicants were admitted on a state-funded basis.
This year, the number of applications has remained virtually unchanged—15 compared to 16 last year—but the admission results are currently significantly different.
A similar situation is observed with the training of future physics teachers.
In 2026, it was possible to pursue this degree in Kyiv at two universities—the Mykhailo Dragomanov National University and the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
In total, applicants submitted 14 applications: 10 to Mykhailo Dragomanov University and four to Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
So far, only two applicants have been admitted, both of whom will study at Mykhailo Dragomanov University. One was admitted on a state-funded basis, and the other on a tuition-paying basis.
However, the final figures may change after the admissions campaign concludes.

As a reminder, starting September 1, Ukraine plans to increase the amount of state scholarships for students at institutions of higher education, pre-higher vocational education, and professional education. This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada.
