Russia attacked Sumy overnight; there are fatalities and injuries
Russian occupiers launched attacks on Sumy overnight, killing two people and injuring one other.
“Residential areas and non-residential buildings were hit. Rescue workers extinguished all the fires,” the statement said.
According to local authorities, Russian drones struck at least four locations in Sumy. The attack destroyed and damaged residential buildings, non-residential and warehouse facilities, garages, and vehicles.
In a residential area of the Zarichne district, a 75-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman were killed. Another woman, aged 52, was injured and taken to receive medical care.
Rescue workers extinguished the fires that broke out after the strikes. The extent of the damage and the consequences of the Russian attack are currently being assessed.

On the night of August 16–17, Russian troops again attacked port infrastructure in the Odesa region. During the strike, a civilian vessel flying the Togolese flag was damaged; four people were injured, three of whom were taken to the hospital.
In Izyum, Kharkiv Oblast, five people were injured as a result of a Russian airstrike. The enemy also damaged at least 15 residential buildings.
Since the evening of August 16, the Russian army has attacked four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 20 times. Five people were wounded as a result of the enemy strikes.
In Kherson, power outages occurred as a result of another round of Russian shelling.
