Two young men will stand trial in Kyiv for brutally beating a neighbor over music
In the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, two men will stand trial for nearly killing their neighbor last fall.
This was reported by the press service of the capital’s police.
The alleged cause of the attackers’ aggression was music playing too loudly from the victim’s apartment, after which the conflict instantly escalated into a bloody brawl.
The crime occurred in November 2025 in one of the apartment buildings on Beresteisky Avenue.
Law enforcement officers, who responded to a call about a fight in the building’s entrance, detained the two attackers at the scene and documented the consequences of the brutal assault.
The investigation established that the two young men, while intoxicated, decided to “teach a lesson” to their 39-year-old neighbor on their own.
Instead of engaging in constructive dialogue, the suspects immediately resorted to physical violence, disregarding any norms of law or morality.
“During the altercation, the attackers struck the 39-year-old man numerous times, causing severe bodily injuries,” the Kyiv Police press service clarified.
The victim sustained injuries that doctors classified as life-threatening, indicating the particular brutality of the attackers’ actions.
The identities of the perpetrators were quickly established: they turned out to be a 23-year-old native of Chernihiv region, who already had a criminal record for theft, and a 20-year-old native of Dnipropetrovsk region.
Both suspects were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Law enforcement has now completed the pre-trial investigation, and the indictment for intentional grievous bodily harm committed by a group of individuals has been sent to court for trial.
The young men’s actions fall under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As a reminder, fraudsters were detained in the Odesa region for deceiving military personnel in a car sale.
