The Kyiv City State Administration issued a statement regarding the increase in transit fares to 30 UAH
Kyiv authorities are continuing to consider raising public transportation fares. The new fare could be 30 hryvnias per trip, but no final decision has yet been made on its implementation.
It was previously reported that the new prices could take effect as early as July 15, but city officials are not specifying a specific date at this time. The fare issue is currently under review.
The relevant department explained that setting fares is a complex bureaucratic procedure that does not depend on a single agency.
The Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Economy and Investment has already calculated an “economically justified” fare of 30 hryvnias.
“It was calculated based on the actual expenses of transportation companies for 2025, taking into account projected price indices, updated labor costs, energy resources, fuel and lubricants, and other components of transportation costs. At the same time, the estimated economically justified fare submitted by municipal enterprises is higher,” the department reported.
The Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Transportation Infrastructure provided this information in response to a request from RBC-Ukraine.
