The Ministry of Defense has announced the month when new "combat" pay will be issued to military personnel
Ukrainian military personnel will receive updated incentive payments and service allowances as early as mid-summer, following the implementation of new regulations in June 2026. The Ministry of Defense clarified that the funds will be disbursed along with basic pay. A portion of the payments is guaranteed even to those who served in the rear.
Ukraine has introduced an updated system of incentive payments for service members, which covers both combat allowances and basic additional payments, regardless of the type of service or contract.
The ministry emphasized that the new rules take effect on June 1, 2026, so all service members who performed duties during this period will receive the updated payments by July 20, along with their basic pay. “The additional payments do not depend on the type of military service. All defenders will receive them: both those who were mobilized and those serving under old or new contracts,” the Ministry of Defense noted.

It is known that military personnel who were stationed in rear units in June are entitled to a guaranteed additional bonus of at least 10,000 hryvnias. At the same time, combat bonuses for assault operations, taking prisoners, or eliminating the enemy on the battlefield are calculated separately and only upon the order of the unit commander.
The ministry explained that the payment system operates according to the usual procedure: orders are processed for the previous month, and funds are disbursed by the 20th of the following month. If a payment is delayed for objective reasons, the right to receive it is not lost—the funds are simply carried over to the next payment period and paid out later. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.
In just a few days, military personnel submitted nearly 200 reports via the “Army+” app requesting to return after leaving their units without authorization. Some of them have already received approval and were able to return to duty in their chosen units.
