A grenade exploded in an apartment in Zhytomyr

A grenade exploded in a high-rise building in Zhytomyr. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.

This was reported by the Zhytomyr Regional Police.

The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Ofitserska Street. Law enforcement officers received a report of a loud noise in a residential building. Upon arrival, they determined that a combat grenade had detonated in one of the apartments.

Currently, an investigative team from the Zhytomyr District Police Department No. 1 and bomb disposal experts are working at the scene.

According to preliminary information, a 43-year-old man lived in the apartment. His whereabouts are being determined.

Law enforcement officers are investigating all the circumstances of the incident, as well as the origin of the munition.

Earlier, in the city of Storozhynets, Chernivtsi region, a man was detained who threw a combat grenade at police officers.

As a reminder, on the night of February 13, in the town of Vynogradiv, Zakarpattia Oblast, an explosion occurred on the grounds of a private residence where the family of a local police operative lives.
