Ukraine has begun implementing EU aviation regulations — Kuleba

The first meeting of the Ukraine–EU Joint Aviation Committee since 2022 took place. This body serves as a key instrument for implementing the Agreement on a Common Aviation Area between Ukraine and the European Union.

Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba announced this on Telegram.

According to him, the agreement establishes uniform rules for aviation and integrates Ukraine into the European aviation system.

At the meeting, participants agreed on a list of EU legal acts that Ukraine must adopt, as well as approaches to their implementation, taking into account current conditions.

This marks the transition to the practical implementation of European aviation rules—from flight safety to passenger rights protection.

“Our goal is for the Ukrainian market to operate under the same rules as in the EU after the skies open: transparently, safely, and with a level playing field for carriers,” Kuleba noted.

Ukrainian airlines are currently operating under extremely difficult conditions. That is why, the Deputy Prime Minister noted, we are preparing the system now—so that once flights resume, the market will be immediately integrated into the European airspace.
