Ukrainians May Be Charged Tax on Low-Cost Packages from Abroad
Government Bill No. 15460 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada; it proposes changes to the rules for taxing goods ordered on foreign marketplaces. The bill also aims to bring Ukrainian legislation in line with European Union standards.
The bill calls for the elimination of the VAT exemption for international postal shipments valued at up to 150 euros. At the same time, private gifts sent free of charge and valued at up to 45 euros will continue to be exempt from taxation.
Currently, the bill’s summary does not include the text of the document or its explanatory note. It merely states that on July 31, the bill was received by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and forwarded to the leadership for consideration.
