Ukrposhta has announced delivery times for packages despite the shelling
Russian shelling may temporarily affect certain parcel delivery routes throughout Ukraine. At the same time, Ukrposhta stated that the attacks have not led to a systematic increase in delivery times.
Russian attacks may affect package delivery in certain regions of Ukraine. Following shelling, the company sometimes has to change routes and reorganize its logistics. At the same time, the company emphasizes that the shelling has not caused a general increase in delivery times across Ukraine. “After attacks, the company promptly reorganizes its logistics: changing routes, redistributing flows, and mobilizing reserve capacity. Our principle is that a strike on a single facility should not halt delivery throughout the entire region,” the press service stated.
What Determines Delivery Times
Ukrposhta explained that delivery speed depends on several factors. These include the selected rate, the route, and the security situation in a specific locality. Under the “Priority” rate, shipments between cities and regional centers are delivered on average within 1–2 days. To the most remote towns and villages, packages may take up to three days.
However, on many routes, shipments may arrive as early as the next day. “Specifically, with the ‘Priority’ rate, delivery between cities and regional centers takes 1–2 days on average, and to the most remote towns and villages—up to three days. On many routes, packages arrive as early as the next day,” the company noted.
How Many Packages Were Delivered on Time
Despite Russian shelling, Ukrposhta delivered 96% of shipments on time in August. The company notes that localized delays are possible following isolated attacks. These may occur due to infrastructure damage, route changes, or the security situation in a specific area.
However, such cases do not mean that the entire delivery system is operating more slowly. “Following isolated attacks, local deviations related to the security situation are possible, but the company is doing everything necessary to keep them to a minimum,” Ukrposhta concluded.
Thus, if a package is delayed following another shelling, this may be due specifically to local changes in logistics. However, according to the company, Russian attacks have not yet led to a systematic increase in delivery times across Ukraine. This was reported by the Ukrposhta press office.
