The government has approved weapons quality control in accordance with NATO standards
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the Regulations on the Main Directorate for State Quality Assurance of the Ministry of Defense, which will oversee the quality of weapons and military equipment in accordance with NATO standards.
The document defines the agency’s powers and enshrines its operational independence. In particular, auditors are prohibited from receiving compensation or benefits from defense contractors, lobbying on their behalf during inspections, and taking employment with such companies for one year after completing their work.
The Ministry of Defense noted that the regulations were developed in accordance with NATO’s AQAP standards and are consistent with European requirements in the field of defense procurement.
The department’s primary mission is to assess companies’ ability to fulfill defense orders and to monitor the quality of products, works, and services under government contracts, particularly within the framework of international military-technical cooperation.
