Foreign nationals detained in Odesa for smuggling draft dodgers and robbery — State Border Guard Service

In Odesa, law enforcement officials uncovered a human trafficking ring smuggling men abroad and detained two Moldovan citizens.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the scheme was organized by the administrator of a Telegram channel, who remotely sought out clients and coordinated their smuggling across the Transnistrian segment of the border.

The detained foreigners acted as smugglers. The cost of their “services” ranged from $8,000 to $15,000.

During one incident, they attacked a client: they stopped the car on the road, threatened him with a knife, and took $6,000. The victim managed to escape.

Both suspects were detained—one at the city limits, the other in downtown Odesa. They are charged with robbery committed under martial law.

The court ordered the suspects to be held in custody as a preventive measure.

The SBU and National Police uncovered 8 schemes to evade mobilization in various regions.

Additionally, the court ordered the seizure of over 48 million hryvnias from an official at the Environmental Inspection.
