Ukraine launches the ‘3,000 km across Ukraine’ programme
The government has adopted a resolution launching the ‘3,000 km across Ukraine’ programme. In December, the initiative will operate in test mode on trains to all frontline regions, and tickets can be purchased from 3 December, according to Ukrzaliznytsia.
The company expects that the programme will help families visit their loved ones near the front line or residents of frontline communities move to other regions for the winter.
Users will be able to take advantage of 3,000 km of travel during off-peak periods when there are free seats, including in open carriages, compartments, regional trains and 2nd class Intercity trains.
To participate in the programme, you need to install or update the Ukrzaliznytsia app. Tickets can be purchased from 10:00 on 3 December, and travel can begin on 5 December. Each passenger can receive up to four trips totalling 3,000 km.
