Registration for master's and doctoral programs has begun in Ukraine

The Ministry of Education and Science has announced the start of registration for entrance exams for master’s and doctoral programs.

"Registration is open until May 14 for the main exams to earn a master’s degree, a PhD, or a Doctor of Arts degree—the EIT, EPT, and EIT," the ministry said in a Facebook post on Thursday.

What prospective students need to know in 2026:

• You can submit documents to take the exam in person at the admissions office of a higher education institution or remotely; entrance exams for master’s programs can be taken both in Ukraine and abroad (the number of spots is limited);
• the minimum competitive score for participation in the selection process for state-funded master’s programs is 130. To be eligible for the doctoral program selection process, applicants must score at least 300 points on the EIT;
• Admission to full-time doctoral programs is possible only through state or regional quotas.

It is reported that more details about registration requirements, the required number of points, and the schedule for the admission campaign to master’s and doctoral programs can be found on the Ministry of Education and Science website.

The modernization of software for conducting entrance exams (EIT, EPT, EIT) is being carried out as part of the joint project with the World Bank Ukraine, "Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results" (UIHERP).

Over 4,000 educational institutions in Ukraine have been damaged due to the war, according to Lisovyi.
