Video: In Vinnytsia Oblast, a rabid fox bit a car and lunged at the driver

In the Vinnytsia region, an aggressive fox damaged a car and attempted to attack the driver, forcing the man to defend himself against it. The neutralized animal has already been sent to a veterinary laboratory for testing.

In the first eight months of 2026, 92 cases of rabies among animals were laboratory-confirmed in the region. Foxes account for more than 53% of these cases, and 60% of infections in domestic animals result from bites by these predators. Experts urge citizens under no circumstances to approach animals that are behaving unnaturally or aggressively, and to immediately report such incidents to the appropriate authorities.

In Lviv, a case of rabies was laboratory-confirmed in a cat found near the intersection of Volodymyr the Great Street and Krilya Street. As a result, special quarantine measures will be implemented in the city within a 5-kilometer zone.
