Video: Stefanyishyna broke down in tears in court upon hearing the bail amount
The High Anti-Corruption Court considered a motion to impose a preventive measure on Olga Stefanishyna, Ukraine’s former ambassador to the United States, who is suspected of illicit enrichment and making false declarations.
During the hearing, the prosecution requested bail in the amount of 13 million hryvnias, while the defense filed a counter-motion asking to reduce the amount to 10 million.
The suspect herself broke down in tears in the courtroom, stating that she does not possess this “mythical money” and is unable to post bail in the specified amount with her own funds.
This was reported by TSN.
NABU and the SAPO have served Stefaniishyna with a new indictment.
As a reminder, Zelenskyy recently dismissed Stefanishyna from her post as Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S.
NABU conducted searches in connection with the case involving Stefanyishyna’s possible illicit enrichment.
