Video: In Ivano-Frankivsk, Nova Poshta employees used a mop to chase a dog out of the branch during a heat wave
A video from Ivano-Frankivsk has gone viral online, showing employees at a “Nova Poshta” branch using a mop to chase a dog out of the building and onto the street during a heat wave.
The company stated that it absolutely does not tolerate cruel or disrespectful treatment of animals.
After the video went viral, “Nova Poshta” conducted an internal investigation and terminated its employment of the employees involved in the incident.
The company emphasized that “Nova Poshta” positions itself as a pet-friendly space. Some branches are home to rescued cats; water bowls are provided for the animals, and in winter, they are allowed inside the premises so they can stay warm.
“That is precisely why the video that went viral came as a shock to us. We categorically do not tolerate cruelty or disrespectful treatment of animals. What we saw in the video is completely contrary to our values,” the company stated.
In addition, representatives of “Nova Poshta” reported that they are searching for the dog at the scene. Once the animal is found, they plan to take it to a veterinary clinic in Hlevas.
The company stated that it will organize and cover the costs of a comprehensive veterinary examination of the dog, as well as any necessary treatment. They promise to provide an update on the animal’s condition after it has been examined by veterinarians.
Nova Poshta also plans to provide additional training for employees across its entire network to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
“Thank you to everyone who didn’t just walk by and helped us respond quickly,” the company added.
This was reported by Nova Poshta’s press service on Facebook.
As a reminder, in Lviv, law enforcement officers detained a 30-year-old man who threw his own dog off a second-floor balcony and then went into hiding from the police.
In Kyiv, police are investigating the death of a French bulldog that the owner left locked on the balcony during a heat wave.
In the Dubno District of Rivne Oblast, employees of the State Emergency Service carried out a successful rescue operation to save a pet that had found itself in a deadly trap.
