The construction of a McDonald’s in Drohobych has been put up for public discussion

An online public discussion has begun in Drohobych regarding the possible construction of a McDonald’s restaurant in the city center.

Community members have until August 19 to share their opinions.

City officials noted that the survey is intended to foster an open dialogue between the community, businesses, and the government regarding the project’s potential impact on the city’s development, the economy, and residents’ quality of life.

According to the published concept, the restaurant is planned to be built next to a hotel. The square will retain its function as a public space, and the restaurant’s area will be separated by pedestrian zones, landscaping, and urban amenities. They also assure that the project will not interfere with the layout of the Taras Shevchenko monument.

Construction will be carried out by the chain’s development partner—the private company “Sarmat”—if it wins the auction for the right to lease the land plot.

The McDonald’s restaurant chain is resuming operations in Ternopil and Boryspil.

As a reminder, on September 20, McDonald’s opened three restaurants on the left bank of the capital after suspending operations in February due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Within 20 minutes of opening, the delivery service ran out of couriers.

On September 27, seven more McDonald’s restaurants resumed operations in Kyiv.
