Azovstal defender Krotevich declined Syrsky's award
Bogdan Krotevich, former chief of staff of the 12th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov,” publicly declined the “For Indomitable Spirit” award. The award had been conferred on him by Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“I don’t need an award from someone who doesn’t know what honor and dignity are,” wrote Tavr.
He also posted a photo showing the “For Indomitable Spirit” badge and the torn certificate for the award.
Following Bogdan Krotevich’s lead, a number of other military personnel have refused awards signed by Syrskyi.
