Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that due to intense Russian attacks, air defense supplies could run out in the near future.
He made this remark during an appearance on the Dutch program Buitenhof.
According to the president, Ukraine has sufficient capabilities to combat drones, but is in urgent need of anti-ballistic air defense systems, particularly Patriots.
“We have everything we need to destroy ‘suicide drones,’ but we don’t have enough Patriot systems or similar ones,” he noted.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine is working on domestic production and is counting on cooperation with European partners.
He emphasized that the need for air defense directly depends on the intensity of the attacks, which are ongoing almost continuously.
Following the Russian attack, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he had instructed the Air Force commander to contact partners who had previously promised to provide missiles for the Patriot systems.
Zelenskyyannounced the news regarding the missiles for the Patriot system following a conversation with the NATO Secretary General.
