Zelenskyy: Canada Has Provided Ukraine With a Large Aid Package for Air Defense
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Canada has provided Ukraine with a large aid package to strengthen its air defense capabilities. According to him, Kyiv is also expecting new shipments in the near future.
The head of state made this statement during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the shortage of air defense capabilities remains the biggest challenge for Ukraine at present, but he thanked Canada for its support and noted that some of the new aid is already on its way to Ukraine.

The Canadian government is discussing with Ukraine the possibility of sending some firearms—the use of which it had previously banned—to help deter Russia on the battlefield.
The House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament approved the allocation of 764 million Canadian dollars (approximately 587 million U.S. dollars) in military aid to Ukraine. It also approved the allocation of financial assistance and funds for humanitarian demining.
